PETALING JAYA: No Malaysians were injured in the explosion that rocked Chelsea in New York, said the Foreign Ministry.
“No Malaysians are identified to be involved in
the incident. Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the explosion," it said in a statement on Sunday.
It added that it would continue to monitor the situation through the Consulate General of Malaysia in New York.
The Foreign Ministry added that Malaysians around New York who require assistance may reach the Consulate General of Malaysia in New York at 313 East 43rd Street, New York, NY 10017.

29 people were injured in the explosion that went off in the upscale New York neighbourhood one week after America’s financial capital marked the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
The explosion occurred in Chelsea at around 8.30pm local time outside 131 West 23rd Street, a usually a busy time of the weekend in an area packed with bars, restaurants and luxury apartment blocks.
